Crochet 101:  The Afghan Series

The idea of making a whole afghan is daunting, especially for a beginner. This series of classes takes crocheting an afghan down to small, easily-mastered squares. We start with the basic granny square and then expand to more complicated squares. You can register for a single session or take the full series and end up with a finished afghan.

Instructor: Theresa Hornstein

Add some sparks to your afghan. In this class, we create a square with flares and bobbles to look like fireworks going off. We’ll review the basic stitches and cover how to read a pattern.  Printed instructions are included.

Materials: size H crochet hook, worsted weight yarn

For a solid color square, 1 oz of yarn is required. Or bust your stash and bring all the leftover bits from other projects to make multi colored squares.
