Crochet 101: The Afghan Series
The idea of making a whole afghan is daunting, especially for a beginner. This series of classes takes crocheting an afghan down to small, easily-mastered squares. We start with the basic granny square and then expand to more complicated squares. You can register for a single session or take the full series and end up with a finished afghan.
Instructor: Theresa Hornstein
Granny’s Got a Point
In this class, we expand on the basic granny square by using singles, doubles, and openwork with color to create a granny square with the addition of the popular alligator stitch. We’ll review the basic stitches and cover how to read a pattern. Printed instructions are included.
Materials: size H crochet hook, worsted weight yarn in colors of your choice
For a solid color square, 1 oz of yarn is required. Or bust your stash and bring all the leftover bits from other projects to make multi colored squares.
