Flax Sweater Class

This pattern is popular for a reason–it’s a great introduction to sweater knitting! Sized from newborn to 6XL, Flax is a top-down raglan pullover with garter stitch details that is a classic design and fun to knit. We’ll plan and measure and discuss gauge and swatching, ease, modifications, magic loop vs. DPNs for sleeves, and how to avoid second sleeve syndrome. If you’re ready to take the leap into garment knitting, this is an excellent place to start. 

Please note that there will be homework between classes. 

Materials: Flax by tincanknits (available for free on Ravelry), Pattern is not included in class price. Please click here to visit the pattern page on Ravelry and purchase your copy. You may also visit us in the shop to purchase a copy prior to the start of class. 

Yarn: enough worsted or aran weight yarn for the size planned

Needles: The pattern suggests using US 6 and US 8 needles; however, the needles you use will depend on your gauge swatch. For the first class, it is recommended to bring a US 7 and US 8 (needle cord length doesn’t matter, as we’ll talk about what to choose as you make your sweater). 

Other Notions: stitch markers, measuring tape, and tapestry needle.

Cancellation Policy: In order to receive a refund, cancellation must be made 48 hours prior to the class date. No refunds will be given for missed classes or once class has started. We sometimes have to cancel classes that do not meet enrollment minimum, refunds will be given.
