Tunisian Crochet (also called Afghan Crochet) is a hybrid of knitting and crochet that is so much easier than it looks! It is a seriously under-rated and versatile technique that can produce a thick, plush fabric in what feels like no time at all. Using a long crochet hook you can produce anything from quick blankets to garments and accessories. This class is a perfect place to start with beginner-level Tunisian crochet stitches and simple pattern reading. You will leave class equipped to do the basic stitches, read a simple pattern, and you will practice by making a simple dishcloth.

This class is open to absolute beginners. Prior experience with traditional crochet is an asset but not required.

Cost: $35 for one 2 hour session

Materials:

  • Tunisian crochet hook around sz US 11 (6.5mm) with short cable extender (regular crochet hooks are not acceptable, they are too short)

- Smooth worsted or DK weight yarn to practice with

- One ball of 100% cotton yarn for making dishcloth if desired (such as Queensland Coastal Cotton, Fantasy Naturale, Cascade Ultra Pima, etc.)
